Chase the chill away in a cozy sweater but don’t let the bulk take over your shape and style! We were so happy to see Plus Size Blogger pick up the Jessica London Fairisle Cardigan Sweater as a great option for keeping color in your winter wardrobe. Click here to read the full blog post. It inspired us to take a look at all the sweater trends of the season and then take a closer look at our plus size sweater collection and see what there is to offer that’s on-trend, modern and full of color for your holidays.
Stripes, Nordic patterns and Fairisle motifs are certainly chic this year. There’s a hint of nostalgia in them but not so much so that it looks like you’re wearing your grandfather’s sweater. Soft new blends of cotton with acrylic or wool prevent these typical “ski sweaters” from being itchy and uncomfortable. Thank goodness for innovations in blending knits because we all remember those old itchy sweaters! Soft, feminine sweater shapes are now the norm and they are made to feel luxurious. Open plus size cardigans, roomy draped cowlnecks (no choking turtlenecks please!), chunky cable cardigans that lend texture to your look, not bulk, and of course color were on all the runways when it came to sweaters. Also, a traditional shape such as a plus size pullover or shrug in unexpected sequins or a bright keeps your outfit on the forefront of plus size fashion.
